Craftlure Timber offers artisan wood design, planning and guidance. To set fair expectations, this disclaimer explains what our services are, what they are not, and the responsibilities that remain with you and the makers you engage. It should be read together with our Terms of Service.
1. Purpose of this disclaimer
The purpose of this disclaimer is to describe the nature and limits of our work. Our concepts and documentation are intended to guide and inform the creation, accent, decoration or restoration of wooden pieces. They are professional design tools, not guarantees of a particular built outcome.
2. Design and guidance only
We provide design and consultation services. We do not build, manufacture, finish, install, deliver or sell physical objects. The realisation of any concept is carried out by you or by a third-party fabricator, carpenter or restorer of your choosing. As a result, the final article depends on the workmanship, materials and decisions of the party who builds it.
3. Not engineering or compliance certification
Our deliverables communicate design intent. They are not structural engineering calculations, load certifications, fire-safety assessments or building-code approvals. Where a project requires such certification, or a permit, you are responsible for engaging the appropriate licensed professional and obtaining the necessary approvals before any work is built or installed.
4. The nature of wood as a material
Wood is a natural, living material. Grain, colour, figure and movement vary from board to board and shift with humidity and time. Samples, renders and drawings illustrate intent and cannot perfectly predict the appearance or behaviour of the timber a maker ultimately sources. Reasonable variation between a concept and a finished piece is to be expected and is part of working with real wood.
5. Estimates, timelines and costs
Any timelines, quantities or cost guidance we provide are good-faith estimates based on the information available at the time. They are not fixed guarantees. Actual costs of fabrication, materials and installation are set by the suppliers and makers you engage and are outside our control.
6. Fabrication and restoration outcomes
Restoration guidance and fabrication documentation are advisory. The condition of an existing piece, the techniques applied by a restorer and the materials chosen will all affect the result. We cannot warrant that a restoration will achieve a specific appearance or that a newly built piece will perform in a particular way, since those outcomes depend on hands other than ours.
7. Your responsibility to verify
Before any concept is built or installed, you are responsible for verifying that it is suitable for its intended location and use, including confirming measurements on site, checking clearances and load conditions, and ensuring compliance with any applicable regulations. If anything in our documentation is unclear, you should ask us before proceeding.
8. No legal, financial or structural advice
Nothing we provide constitutes legal, financial, insurance or licensed engineering advice. Our role is limited to design and creative guidance for wooden pieces. For advice in those specialised fields, you should consult a suitably qualified professional.
9. Informational content on this website
Articles, descriptions and general information published on this website are provided for educational purposes and to describe our approach. They are not project-specific recommendations and should not be relied upon as such. Project advice is given only within a defined engagement.
10. Limitation of liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law, Craftlure Timber is not liable for losses arising from the construction, installation, use, maintenance or restoration of any item created from our concepts by you or a third party. Our liability is limited as set out in our Terms of Service. Nothing in this disclaimer excludes liability that cannot lawfully be excluded.
11. Changes to this disclaimer
We may update this Service Disclaimer from time to time. The current version is always published on this page with its revision date.
